Computer Scientist

My name is Anto Satriyo Nugroho. I received my B.Eng (Pak Habibie’s STMDP-II scholarship), M.Eng (Monkasho scholarship) and Dr.Eng (Monkasho scholarship) degrees from Nagoya Institute of Technology, Japan, in 1995, 2000 and 2003, respectively. Since 1989, I have been working for PTIK-BPPT (Center of Information & Communication Technology, Agency for the Assessment & Application of Technology), Indonesia. From 2003 to 2007, I was working as visiting professor at School of Life System Science & Technology, Chukyo University, Japan. In April 2007, I and my family returned to Indonesia and worked at BPPT. My research interest is on pattern recognition and computer vision with applied field of interest on Multimodal biometrics Identification and Computer Aided Diagnosis for Malaria Detection. In 2017, I was appointed as the 1st president of Indonesian Association for Pattern Recognition (INAPR), which becomes official member of International Association for Pattern Recognition (IAPR) in 2018. I also serve as a member of IAPR Governing Board from Indonesia. Due to the integration of BPPT, BATAN, LAPAN and LIPI, my affiliation changed to National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), since 1 September 2021. I also work as a part time lecturer in Swiss German University, UNS Sebelas Maret Surakarta and Institut Teknologi Indonesia.
